3 Days Uganda Safari: Murchison Falls National Park

Murchison Falls National park is the largest protected area in Uganda.
The most important activities carried in MFNP include a launch trip, wildlife drives, chimpanzee tracking at either Busingiro or Kaniyo Pabidi and spot fishing.

Itinerary

DAY 1: Touring Murchison Falls

After breakfast our tour guide will transfer you northwards via Masindi for your lunch and arrive in the evening at the Top of the Falls. The launch trip up the Nile from Paraa passes an impressive variety of wildlife on the riverbanks before the Murchison Falls are sighted at the head of Fajao gorge. For a closer look climb up to the Top of the Falls (also accessible by vehicle) for the giddy view down into the thundering chasm.

Return to the lodge for your lunch and go for an afternoon game drive in the beautiful and wildlife-rich Buligi grasslands oon the side of the Nile, to the west of Paraa. Dinner and overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge.


DAY 2: Game drives in Murchison Falls National Park

After a morning African cup of tea, undertake an early morning game drive in search for Cape buffalo, lion, hyena, bohor reedbuck, hartebeest, Rothschild’s giraffe, oribi, bushbuck, water buck, and if you are lucky you may see leopards.

With packed lunch go by a boat cruise along the Victoria Nile with a stop-oover at the at Devil’s Cauldron as you marvel at crocodiles, hippos, elephants Uganda kobs and water bucks. Dinner and an overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge.


 

DAY 3: Primates Trekking in Budongo Forest

Take an early morning breakfast transfer to Budongo forest and the proposed Ramsar site for primate walks in search of chimpanzee, and the prolific bird life. The forest’s ‘Royal Mile’ is thought to be best place for bird-watching in the whole of Uganda. More than 350 bird species including Uganda’s most sought-after birds such as Nahan’s Francolin, Cassin’s Spinetail, Chestnut-capped Flycatcher and Ituri Batis.

This hot birding spot is also home to Uganda’s largest population of chimpanzees. After a picnic lunch cross over with the ferry where our tour guide will drive you back to Kampala arriving in the evening. Dinner and overnight at Speke Hootel or similar other.
