KIBALE FOREST NATIONAL PARK

MGAHINGA GORILLA NATIONAL PARK
Mgahinga gorilla national park is the smallest park in the country and one of the gorilla trekking parks in the great virunga ranges. It is about 38 sq km and a habitat for the endangered mountain gorillas. This park adjoins Rwanda’s volcano, and the democratic republic of Congo’s virunga national parks.
LAKE MBURO NATIONAL PARK
This park, 260 kms, is found in Mbarara District, with an altitude range from up to 1828m above sea level. The Lake Mburo National Park is named after the lake which falls in this territory. The attractive acacia-dotted savanna (158 square miles) is home to huge herds of impala, as well as uncommon topi, eland, klipspringer and other antelope.
MT RWENZORI NATIONAL PARK
Rwenzori is the highest mountain in Uganda, and the first foreigner to climb it to the top was an Italian by the names of Luigi Amadeodi Savoy duke of the Abruzzi in 1906. In 2006 Ugandans and Italians celebrated the hundred years
since the first foreigner reached on top of Mt. Rwenzori.
MOUNT ELGON NATIONAL PARK
Mt. Elgon is an extinct volcano that first erupted more than 24 million years ago. With the largest surface area of any extinct volcano in the world (50 km by 80 km).
KIDEPO VALLEY NATIONAL PARK
Kidepo valley is one of Uganda’s most spectacular parks. This national park is 1,442 square kilometers. Kidepo is
tucked into the corner of Uganda’s boarder with Sudan and Kenya and harbors scenery that can not be found in any
other parks in east Africa.
SEMLIKI NATIONAL PARK
Semliki national park, in advance known as the Toro Reserve, lies near the northern base of the Ruwenzoris in Uganda. The rich habitat of grassland, savannah, forest and wetland is home to diverse fauna, in addition to 400 bird species and 300 butterfly species.
